Call Centre firm’s new US contact to create 50 jobs

Irish Independent Business September 2008

Irish contact centre firm Conduit has won a contract to provide telephone enquiry service to Life Line Screening, a US firm that helps patients identify their risks of developing serious conditions such as strokes or heart disease. Conduit said the new contract will result in the creation of 50 jobs.

Conduit also handles call centre services for client firms including Tesco and Tourism Ireland. The Irish call centre company will provide multi-lingual services for Life Line Screening, as it expands through out Europe. Conduit already provides services in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Polish from Dublin.

Based in Ohio, Life Line Screening offers patients, generally over 40 years of age, what it terms preventative health screening. The controversial service from companies such as Life Line has drawn fire from some doctors and previously from a US federal panel. Yesterday, Conduit’s Business Development Director, Brian Hannon, said Life Line Screening is offering a “valuable service, which increases the quality of life for the over fifties”.
